ROAR SPONSORS SENATORIAL CANDIDATES' FORUM:

(July 20, 2000)

Join ROAR on the evening of August 3, 2000, when United States Senate candidates present their positions on airport noise, capacity, competition and pollution.

This outdoor event will take place under the MSP flight path at Lynnhurst Park in South Minneapolis (50th St. & James Av. S.) from 6.30 - 8.00 pm.

To date, candidates who have confirmed their intent to attend include Michael Ciresi, Leslie Davis, Mark Dayton, James Gibson, Rebecca Yanisch.

Changes in aviation practices and pollution regulations have to happen on a federal level. Citizens' recent victory on the MSP dewatering issue has shown politicians that airport issues resonate with South Metro area voters. ROAR has encouraged its membership to remain neutral in these elections until we learn about the candidates' positions on noise, pollution and growth. We hope to elect a senator who is willing to be proactive on a national level with solutions that will greatly affect our local situation
